Gerald W. Hildebrand, Consultant, Former Texas Ranger    

Gerald W. (G. W.) Hildebrand, a retired Texas Ranger with 28 years of criminal investigative experience, has investigated 1,500 violent crimes throughout his career. Inspector Hildebrand is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and was selected as the "Outstanding" graduate student at Southwest Texas State University in 1997. He holds a Master Police Officer and Police Instructor Certificate from the governing board of the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement Officer Standards of Education.

 From 1991-1995, Hildebrand was in charge of Governor Ann Richards Protective Detail and the Protective Detail for Governor Bush and his family after he was elected Governor in 1994. Hildebrand is one of forty-five active FBI trained Psychological Profilers in the U.S. and is an instructor and lecturer on criminal investigation topics for law enforcement agents. Hildebrand is a also faculty member of the Austin Community College. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and holds a Master's degree in Criminal Justice Management from SWT.

Hildebrand was assigned as an Inspector at the Department of Public Safety of Texas from 1996 until his retirement in 2004. The inspector position carries a rank of captain and is part of the Office of Audit and Inspection in DPS. In addition to ranger inspection duties, Inspector Hildebrand provides specialized criminal investigative analyses and assessments in a wide variety of criminal matters to the investigators and rangers in DPS and to local law enforcement. He is responsible for providing training in several criminal investigative subjects including basic and advanced criminal investigation, questionable death, crime scene search, interrogation, statement analyses, and related topics for the DPS and other agencies.
